New Yorkers should make the most of the sunshine this Saturday, as it’s expected to be the only fully sunny day for almost a month thereafter.
According to The Weather Channel (using forecast data up until October 3rd, 2025) and AccuWeather’s forecast (covering the first two weeks of October), every day following Saturday, September 20th shows at least some cloud cover. Unlike Saturday’s cloud-free blue skies, New Yorkers likely won’t see another completely sunny day until October 15th, 2025.
Starting Sunday, September 21st, forecasts show partly to mostly cloud skies. However, the next month is expected to be primarily dry according to current forecasts. The Weather Channel only estimates possible rain on September 23rd. Meanwhile, AccuWeather predicts periods of rain on Thursday, October 9th and Saturday, October 11th.
The next fully sunny day on Wednesday, October 15th will have a high of 22°C (around 72°F) with little humidity, no clouds in sight and only a 20% chance of precipitation.
Keep in mind that nearly a month of partly cloudy days doesn’t mean unpleasant weather. Many of those days will still feature beautiful sunshine alongside a few clouds—making them perfect for enjoying autumn activities, from weekend getaways to leaf peeping.
Moreover, extended forecasts can always change—so who knows, maybe more days of full sunshine are ahead of us than expected.
