WalletHub recently conducted an in-depth study on which U.S. cities were the absolute best to spend the holiday, and NYC came out on top—for a second year in a row!
The personal financial website used 29 different indicators and analyzed the 100 largest U.S. cities. They took into account: 1) Entertainment & Food, 2) Costs and 3) Safety & Accessibility.
Each metric was graded on a 100-point scale, with a score of 100 being the “most favorable.” NYC came out with a 70.20 total score—2.70 points higher than last year’s score of 67.50. Orlando, Florida follows not too far behind with a 70.12. Those were followed by Las Vegas, Nevada at 70.09, San Francisco, California at 67.03, and Atlanta, Georgia at 66.00.
Though New York ranked best overall, primarily because it ranked #1 for entertainment and food, it did rank almost last at #98 (just behind Miami, FL at #99 and Irvine, CA at #100) for cost, which probably doesn’t surprise you.
