To accompany NYC’s brief temperature boost, a coastal flood advisory is in place beginning Friday, December 19th at 6am.
If you’re one of those workers who has yet to clock in the holiday PTO, be advised that your morning commute could be a messy one. Per the National Weather Service, “a frontal system brings a period of heavy rain and strong to damaging winds to the region overnight and Friday. Gusts up to 50 mph are expected.”
Fair warning: if you have the Christmas lights and inflatables hanging outside of your place, now might be a good time to bring Rudolph and Frosty inside.
What to know about NYC’s coastal flooding advisory
Flooding advisories are in place throughout the five boroughs, all of which start at 6am. According to the city’s Emergency Management System, those who need to travel should use mass transit when commuting tomorrow morning.
