The MLB season kicks off today, and while the Yankees are starting the year at home, the Mets will have to wait until April 4th to welcome their record signing superstar Juan Soto to Citi Field.
To celebrate Opening Day, the New York Transit Museum is bringing back its fleet of vintage cars to shuttle fans to the stadium, something they haven’t done since 2018!
That’s right, Mets fans can hop aboard a nostalgic train car from the 34 St-Hudson Yards and ride across the 7 line to Citi Field…reminiscing on NY history and Mets lore along the way.
The train ride departs the 34 St-Hudson Yards station at 12 pm on Friday, April 4th and will make several stops along the 7 line route on the way to the stadium (Mets-Willets Point).
Riding the train is completely FREE with subway fare ($2.90) and it will only be making one trip so be sure to get to the subway station on time!
The journey from Manhattan to Queens lasts about 35 minutes and will get fans to the stadium with plenty of time before the first pitch at 3:10 pm. Remember that there will be no return trip either, so you’ll have to hop on the regular ‘ol 7 train after the game.
While you’re at the game, be sure to check out one of the Mets giveaways throughout the year and also stuff your face with their award-winning food options.
