You know that saying “Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned?” Well, while some feel full of love when Cupid makes his way back to town on Valentine’s Day, others brainstorm ways to get back at an ex. And sure, you could always name a roach after your ex, but you can also take it one step further.
For just a $50 donation, Blackwood, New Jersey-based Homeward Bound Pet Adoption is letting scorned lovers “neuter” their ex for Valentine’s Day!
Okay, to clarify, they won’t actually neuter your ex. Instead, the animal shelter will name a feral cat after your ex, which will then be spayed or neutered before being released back to its colony.
The event is a special promotion for Valentine’s Day because, according to the shelter, “some things shouldn’t breed.”
The program is part of the shelter’s trap-neuter-return (TNR) program, which is vital to preventing feral cats from breeding. This stops the birth of unwanted cats and gets the feral cat population under control.
By participating in the program, your $50 donation ensures the shelter can offer spay/neuter surgery at reduced costs for community cats and their caretakers in need.
If you’d like to neuter your ex you can can fill out the donation form here. And, to remember this moment forever, the shelter will then provide you with a picture of your ex’s namesake after the surgery.
And, for the full effect, we suggest fully envisioning your ex sporting the infamous cone of shame once you make your donation.
