New York pizza is a sacred thing–if there was a Times Square billboard of a food pyramid in NYC, all but two of the food groups would consist of pizza (the other two would be bagels and BECs, of course). And, proudly wearing the title of the “#1 Best U.S. City For Pizza Addicts,” we don’t mess around when it comes to this simple pleasure.
So when we saw that Yelp had released a list of the 25 most photographed pizza places in the U.S., we didn’t doubt for a second that NYC would be featured. Of course we were right, but even more than that, NYC was featured twice!
Lombardi’s – #2

The iconic Lombardi’s was established back in 1905 and is known as being America’s first pizzeria. Over a hundred years later they’ve still got it, serving up top notch pies every day. The shop’s crispy, thin-crust Margherita pizza and legendary clam pie, which, might we add, is loaded with three dozen fresh-shucked clams, are famous, and have been photographed and submitted to Yelp over 5,000 times!
Lombardi’s, which was also featured on Yelp’s list of the top 100 pizza spots according to Yelp Elites in 2024, is located at 32 Spring Street in Manhattan’s Little Italy. And don’t let the lines sway you–its old-school charm and photo-worthy pies are certainly worth the wait.
Rubirosa – #10

Rubirosa was opened by AJ Pappalardo, the son of Giuseppe Pappalardo, who founded Joe & Pat’s on Staten Island. The beloved shop is most well known for its Tie Dye Pizza, which features vodka sauce, tomato sauce, and pesto all on one pie with fresh mozzarella, certainly photo-worthy! The deliciousness doesn’t end there though–Rubirosa also serves up Italian classics like no one else, such as freshly made-in-house pasta, salads, antipasti, and mini rice balls that you can snack on while waiting for your pizza. Plus, they have arguably the best meatballs in NYC.
Located at 235 Mulberry Street, this sit-down Nolita gem is a bit tight inside–but that just makes it especially cozy, right?!–so it can certainly be a tough reservation at times, but it’s totally worth snagging a table if you’re able to; that’s to say reservations are highly recommended!
