I mean we all knew it…
50 Top Pizza released their rankings for the best pizzerias in the country, and NYC swept the list with nine venues mentioned, and landing the number one spot with Una Pizza Napoletana in the LES.
The 2022 guide by 50 Top Pizza was a cumulative effort from over one thousand anonymous inspectors across five different continents. The inconspicuous inspectors had spent the last year tasting and trying tons of pizzerias across the country, taking into consideration the ingredients, the service, and the attention to customers in their rankings.
Coming in at second is San Francisco’s Tony’s Pizza Napoletana, and in third, another NYC favorite, Ribalta NYC.
And now another study, released by LawnStarter, backs NYC’s pizza superiority by ranking NYC at the best U.S. city for pizza addicts! With Americans consuming around 3 billion pizzas per year, it’s safe to say that pizza is a pretty big deal in the United States. Whether you like it with pepperoni, pineapple, or simply just cheese, it’s a meal most cannot deny.
The study was conducted using metrics including: the amount of pizzerias in each city per 100,000 residents, the average cost of a pizza, search interest for pizza-related keywords, average number of reviews per pizza vendor, and more across 100 of America’s largest cities.
New York City was recorded to have the most monthly Google searches for pizza-related keywords than anywhere else in the United States. And with thousands of pizzerias to try and choose from, it makes sense!
Between our bagels and pizza, New York City has some serious pride in its delicious food prepared to perfection.
Chewy and thin—perfect for folding—New York style pizza is truly unbeatable. This recent study only further validates New Yorkers and their affair with such cheesy goodness, proving that New York style pizza deserves all of its hype.
Though some might argue Chicago should have us beat, they didn’t even come close! New York placed first with a whopping score of 79.87 while Chicago moved down a spot compared to last year, taking third place with 37.15 points.
Here are some of the other top 10 cities across the U.S. that made the list too:
- New York
- San Fransisco
- Las Vegas
- Los Angeles
- Fort Lauderdale
