Contemporary ice cream parlor Morgenstern’s recently announced the launch of their new soft-serve concept, BANANAS, and this Memorial Day weekend they’re opening up a summer Heladeria (ice cream cart).
Nicholas Morgenstern is teaming up with Chef Ryan Bartlow of Ernesto’s–a Spanish eatery in the LES serving cuisine from the Basque region–to pair the irresistible flavors of Ernesto’s classics with delicious ice cream served in the signature Morgenstern’s style.
BANANAS reimagines non-dairy ice cream for the 21st century, riffing on the classics with go-to options like chocolate and mango along with unique combinations like sumo yuzu, salted peanut butter, banana caramel, and more.
The Heladeria will offer six flavors and three specialty options, including:
- Egg custard
- Cinnamon
- Black walnut
- Cafe bombon
- Basque cheesecake
- Chocolate turron
- Brilliante sorbet
- Caramel flan
- Tocino del cielo sundae
- Sandwich de chocolate
And, for those who truly can’t get enough of this sweet treat, branded T-shirts and hats will also be available at the cart.
The Heladeria will be located in Dimes Square at 259 East Broadway. The ice cream cart will open Memorial Day Weekend, on Friday, May 26, and be open Monday-Thursday 4 p.m. – 10 p.m. and Friday-Sunday 2 p.m. – 12 a.m.
