It’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and in typical New York fashion, you can find numerous ways to support the cause all over the city.
There are activations, health checks, and pink-themed collaborations throughout the month, but the main event is the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk in Central Park. This year, it will take place on Sunday, October 20th from 8am to noon beginning at the Naumburg Bandshell (West 67th St and Central Park West).
Every October since the early 90s, Central Park has turned into a sea of pink ribbons and tutus as participants show out decked out in pink to show support for the cause. The Making Strides Walk is more than just a charity event; it celebrates strength and hope as people join forces to create an atmosphere of unity.
Aside from the main event in Central Park, there will be walks throughout the tristate area, maximizing your opportunity to support a great cause.

For three decades, these 3- to 5-mile non-competitive walks have collectively grown into the nation’s most significant and impactful breast cancer movement, providing a supportive community for courageous breast cancer survivors and metastatic breast cancer thrivers, caregivers, and families alike.
