The holiday bucket list just keeps growing—and it’s only September!
On top of your annual Rockefeller Center Christmas Lighting, festive-themed bars, & holiday markets, dazzling lights shows like Lightscape are returning on November 22, 2024 better than ever before!
The holiday trail was a massive success in its East Coast debut, after originally launching at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, in London in 2014. The 2024 show will feature dazzling light sculptures, brilliant water features and colorful effects projected onto the trees of BBG, all to a specially curated soundtrack.
Last year’s highlights included the Sea of Light, bathing Cherry Esplanade in a stunning show of music and light, and Meadow of Light, brightening the Osborne Garden.
We can only hope to once again explore some of BBG’s horsechestnut trees that were adorned with illuminated art from the Garden’s archives of botanical illustration, or walk through a tunnel of hundreds of pink and purple hanging lights in the Plant Family Collection. Whatever this year’s surprises bring, it will surely have you “ooo-ing” & “awing” the whole way. Plus, visitors are more than encouraged to take as many gorgeous photos as they please!
Food & drinks will be available at stops along the trail, but those looking for a true meal can reserve a spot at the Lightscape Lodge at Yellow Magnolia Café.
New to the event this year are adult hours and sensory-friendly early entry. That means guests 21 and over only will have special entry on December 12 & 19th after 7pm. Moreover, sensory-friendly early entry will be on December 18th and January 3rd at 4pm.
Lightscape will run from November 22, 2024–January 5, 2025. Tickets range by member status, value nights, peak and off peak times.
