On top of your annual Rockefeller Center Christmas Lighting, festive-themed bars, & holiday markets, dazzling lights show, Lightscape, is returning to Brooklyn Botanic Garden like never before.
The holiday trail was a sold out success in last year’s East Coast debut, after originally launching at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, in London in 2014. The 2022 show will feature new works from local artists, in addition to international showstoppers from last season such as Winter Cathedral and a reimagined Fire Garden.
Kinetic mirrors and light patterns will dance across the Plant Family Collection lawn in A Magical Season by Christopher Wren as strings of neon chords create a canopy between BBG’s Kanzan trees in Neon Waves, also from Christopher Wren with Jason Cochran.
Walk along an enchanting trail through the 52-acre landscape of more than one million lights to a curated soundtrack at this beautiful spectacle that will having you “ooo-ing” & “awing” the whole way through.
Created to showcase & celebrate nature’s beauty in the winter months, visitors will experience incredible lights sculptures and vibrant effects on the BBG’s landscapes that will illuminate the many trees and water features.
“Lightscape’s million festive lights will illuminate this iconic trail and capture the imagination of visitors,” says Jen Hensley, Con Edison’s senior vice president, Corporate Affairs. “This spectacular outdoor event provides a fun, safe way to celebrate the holidays.”
Food & drinks will be available at stops along the trail, and visitors are more than encouraged to take as many gorgeous photos as they please!
Lightscape will run from November 16, 2022 – January 8, 2023. Tickets range from $18-$40, depending on membership. Get yours here.
