Leslie Odom Jr. is coming back to Broadway, and he’s bringing his beloved Hamilton character Aaron Burr with him!
The award-winning Broadway musical (which is celebrating its 10th birthday this August) is welcoming back Odom to the production for a limited-run, spanning September 9th – November 23rd, 2025 at Richard Rodgers Theatre.
Odom will be back playing the archrival to Alexander Hamilton, a role he won a Tony for back in 2016 alongside Lin-Manuel Miranda.
“Returning to Hamilton is a deeply meaningful homecoming,” he said in a statement. “I’m so grateful for the chance to step back into the room — especially during this anniversary moment — and to revisit this brilliant piece that forever changed my life and the lives of so many.”
As mentioned, Hamilton marks its 10th anniversary on August 6th, 2025, just 1 month before Odom hits the stage.
He’s credited with originaing the role of Aaron Burr in both the Off-Broadway and Broadway productions of Hamilton from the start, and even won a Tony Award for Best Leading Actor in a Musical and a Grammy Award as a principal soloist on the Original Broadway Cast Recording.
Odom recently returned to Broadway in 2023 starring in the critically acclaimed revival of Purlie Victorious: A Non-Confederate Romp Through the Cotton Patch by Ossie Davis, which earned six Tony Award nominations itself.
However the Hamilton revival will be his first acting role in that specific show in 9 years.
Hamilton tells the story of America then, through the voices of America now.
Featuring a groundbreaking score that weaves together hip-hop, jazz, R&B, and Broadway, the show reimagines the life of founding father Alexander Hamilton, creating a cultural phenomenon that continues to influence theater, politics, and education.
