L’Appartement 4F is bringing its French flair to the West Village.
The Brooklyn Heights hotspot, famous for its sourdough bread, flaky, hand-rolled croissants, and extraordinarily long lines spilling out onto Montague Street, opened its second location at 119 W. 10th Street on February 1st, and it’s the perfect place to pick up a quick and satisfying weekend brunch.
The couple behind the wildly successful venture, Gautier and Ashley, are Brooklyn residents who started their business as somewhat of a side hobby during the Covid-19 pandemic. The self-described “two-person cottage bakery” specialized in handcrafted small batches of slow fermented, sourdough bread and operated right out of their apartment. (Hence the name.)
In time, the operation grew to a brick-and-mortar store on Montague Street in 2022 that offers a charming French-country aesthetic for all those stopping by. Eventually, the quaint coffee shop expanded to include its natural wine bar, Now, the adventure continues into Manhattan.
So what’s worth snagging on your early-morning breakfast run? Well, a little bit of everything, truthfully! Menu options range from pain au chocolat (a personal favorite) and pistachio rose croissants to sourdough loafs, baguettes, and cinnamon rolls. Customers can’t go wrong with any of the options.
If you need us, we’ll be snagging some croissants for our Sunday-morning feast. See you at L’Appartement 4F!
