Two years ago the Filipino fast food restaurant Jollibee opened its first Manhattan location much to the delight of New Yorkers, and now they are expanding with a huge Times Square Flagship location!
According to The Real Deal, they have signed a lease on a 7,127-square-foot space at 1500 Broadway, between 43rd and 44th St. Their current Manhattan location is at 609 Eight Avenue.
Jollibee is known best for their delicious fried chicken. Fans of the restaurant often line up for it on opening day, which is exactly what happened for its first Manhattan location, when they gave away free Chickenjoy—the popular menu item of chicken with gravy and rice—for a year to the first 40 people who entered the store on its first day!
Aside from fried chicken, the restaurant serves many dishes more common to the Philippines like their Jolly Spaghetti (sweet spaghetti with slices of ham and hot dogs), Burger Steaks (with a mushroom gravy on top), or Fiesta Noodles (noodles in a garlic sauce with shrimp and hard-boiled eggs). For dessert they offer items like Peach Mango Pie or Halo-Halo.
There is also a location in Woodside, Queens (at 6229 Roosevelt Avenue).
No opening date has been set as of yet.
