The popular Filipino fast food chain Jollibee is about to open their first Manhattan location.
The chain has one other NYC location in Woodside, Queens, but announced on Monday that the other NYC space will open near Port Authority at the end of this month.
Jollibee, known best for their delicious fried chicken, will open at 609 Eighth Avenue on Saturday, October 27. Fans of the restaurant are known to line up for it on opening day and we imagine this debut won’t be any different. The chain will be offering free Chickenjoy—the popular menu item of chicken with gravy and rice—for a year to the first 40 people who enter the store on its first day!
Aside from fried chicken, the restaurant serves many dishes more common to the Philippines like their Jolly Spaghetti (sweet spaghetti with slices of ham and hot dogs), Burger Steaks (with a mushroom gravy on top), or Fiesta Noodles (noodles in a garlic sauce with shrimp and hard-boiled eggs). For dessert they offer items like Peach Mango Pie or Halo-Halo.
