Slushes, anyone?
Fast food chain Sonic is making its way to Midtown! According to a report in The Real Deal, the famous drive-in restaurant will take over the former Pax Wholesome space at 966 Sixth Avenue (between 34th and 35th St.).
Of course, in the middle of Manhattan it won’t actually have drive-thru capabilities. Still, it will take up three entire floors, spanning over 5,400 square feet.
Though it’s surprisingly not the first Sonic in NYC (there is one on the south shore of Staten Island, which is pictured above), it is the first location in Manhattan. No details about the opening date have been revealed as of yet.
Sonic first opened in 1953 in Oklahoma, and now has 3,494 locations across 46 states.
