In true Gatsby fashion, the 11th annual Jazz Age Lawn Party hit New York this past weekend with live music, dancing, cocktails and everything else that screams the Roaring Twenties. Thousands of guests got in the speakeasy spirit by donning their best flapper dresses or bowler hats and ferried over to Governors Island to see a jazz age performance by Michael Arenella and his Dreamland Orchestra. Turning out to be quite the swinging soiree, attendees competed in Charleston dance contests and sipped on endless supplies of the time period’s most sought-after beverage: St. Germain cocktails.
Miss out on the Prohibition-filled action? Fear not, because the event returns to NYC on August 13th, hooch and all. And for those of you who won’t be able to attend, you can relive the best of the 1920s with these photos of all the molls and dolls who took part in this weekend’s festivities.
