The venue has transitioned from a popular neighborhood food hall into a staggering 70,000-square-foot mega-destination dedicated to authentic food, shopping, and entertainment.

Located inside Industry City—the 6-million-square-foot creative business hub in Sunset Park—Japan Village spans two massive floors.
Following its recent 50,000-square-foot expansion, the space is meticulously designed to mirror the buzzing energy of Tokyo’s famous markets.
Beyond the incredible food and retail therapy, the massive expansion has allowed Japan Village to scale up its interactive community events.
Guests can step into a serene, intimate tea room for a traditional tea ceremony class led by a tea master, or head to Sew Mania for hands-on sewing workshops to craft everything from simple zipper pouches to authentic, reversible Japanese knot bags.
Depending on the week, you can even catch high-energy events like live outdoor sumo wrestling competitions right in the courtyard!

With the new expansion fully open, the programming inside Japan Village is absolutely stacked. The layout seamlessly blends tactile retail with authentic culinary experiences:

- Full-Service Restaurants: Sit down for a formal meal at Sushi Uesugi, the lively izakaya Waku Waku, or the sizzling yakiniku spot Gyuya
- Nightlife & Bars: Sing your heart out or grab a drink at Oldies or JTunes Karaoke
- Sunrise Mart: A massive, fully-stocked Japanese supermarket packed with authentic ingredients, fresh produce, sushi-grade fish, imported snacks, and regional condiments

Because of the buzz surrounding the brand-new expansion, the space can get incredibly lively on weekends. Here’s everything you need to know to plan your trek:

- 📍 Where: 934 3rd Avenue (Inside Buildings 3 & 4 at Industry City), Sunset Park, Brooklyn
- 📅 Hours: Sunday – Thursday: 11 am to 8 pm | Friday & Saturday: 11 am to 9 pm (Note: Individual vendor hours may vary)
- 🚇 By Subway: Take the D, N, or R train to the 36th Street Station in Brooklyn, followed by a quick five-minute walk right into the complex
- 🚢 By Ferry: Take the NYC Ferry (South Brooklyn Route) to the Sunset Park/Brooklyn Army Terminal stop. From there, it’s a scenic 15-minute walk or a 5-minute bike ride north
- 🚗 By Car: Paid parking lots are available throughout the Industry City complex, though spots fill up fast during peak weekend hours
