Since 2014, the Intrepid Museum has been hosting free summer movie nights directly atop the massive flight deck of a historic World War II aircraft carrier. Offering sweeping, unobstructed views of the Hudson River and the Manhattan skyline, it’s an absolute NYC summer bucket list experience.

The 2026 Schedule & Logistics
The popular free movie night series kicks off over Memorial Day Weekend, offering cinematic screenings against the beautiful backdrop of an NYC sunset.
- Dates: May 22 – August 28, 2026 (One Friday night per month)
- Time: Doors open at 6pm; movies begin at sunset
- Where: The Intrepid Museum Flight Deck (Pier 86, W 46th St)
- Entry: Free and open to the public
🚨 Pro-Tip: Arrive early! Seating is strictly on a first-come, first-served basis, and the flight deck will close once it reaches capacity.
