The holiday season is of course loved for its beautiful tree lightings, ice skating rinks and holiday markets, but what makes the season extra special, is all the opportunities to give back to the community. This Thanksgiving, tons of NYC organizations are looking out for their neighbors by providing free, hot Thanksgiving meals to those in need.
Coney Island’s Community Thanksgiving Dinner
The annual tradition will go on this year as the Alliance for Coney Island, Luna Park, The Coney Island Gospel Assembly and Gargiulo’s will give out free Thanksgiving dinners to those in need. No RSVP is necessary.

God’s Love We Deliver Thanksgiving Celebration
The food distribution organization feeding those living with HIV/AIDS, cancer and other serious illnesses is preparing more than 15,000 free Thanksgiving meals (complete with turkey, sweet potatoes, vegetables, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie) to give out to those too sick to cook for themselves. Volunteer drivers will be delivering those free meals from Industry City to clients at their households.

Kings Theatre Community Luncheon
Students from the Academy of Hospitality and Tourism at Erasmus High School have prepared hot meals for attendees at this year’s community luncheon. It’s open to any New Yorker. There will be turkey, stuffing, potatoes, hot soup, and more. Community members can also pick up donated winter supplies such as coats, hats and gloves at the luncheon to stay warm this winter season.

Thanksgiving Banquet
Next Step Community Church is upholding their annual tradition by feeding their neighbors a complimentary Thanksgiving meal this Thursday. If you have any food donations or know someone interested in attending, you can reach out to Pastor Zac Martin via cell (929-229-1076) but no RSVP is required.

Neighbors Giving Thanks
North Brooklyn Angels, a volunteer-ran non profit, is providing the community with around 600 total sit-down Thanksgiving meals across four Brooklyn neighborhoods.

The Bowery Mission Thanksgiving Meal
Volunteers are preparing 350 turkeys, 3,500 pounds of potatoes and 400 pies as part of the longest-running Thanksgiving meal celebration in NYC.
