Bushwick is one of Brooklyn’s rising neighborhoods in recent years, and it could be due to their swanky nightlife, good eats, and underground culture. To help you navigate the area a little easier, we narrowed it down to some of the best places to eat, drink, party, and have some fun! So hop on the L train and let’s get to it…
Coffeeshops
Lazy Suzy Cafe & Shop

This rather large and modern cafe is the perfect place to spend a day working remote, or even stopping by for a quick espresso shot! Plus, the staff is super friendly and the crowd that hangs out in here is very cool.
Where: 703 Hart St, Brooklyn
Sey Coffee
Sey Coffee may have one the best interior of all the Bushwick cafes. Because it’s illuminated by skylights and fulled with plants, it feels like home. They serve a variety of coffees (from all different places in the world) alongside yummy pastries.
Where: 18 Grattan St, Brooklyn
Dweebs
Dweebs gives a minimalism interior, but the coffee served here is anything but. You can get just about anything you want, and do so with a snack on the side. We suggest one of their “Bagel Sammies” or “Breakfast Burritos.”
Where: 1434 DeKalb Ave, Brooklyn
Sunrise/Sunset
This spot is more of a cafe/bar crossover than it is a traditional coffeeshop. Hence it’s name, they’ve got you covered, from sunrise to sunset. Stop by in the morning for your morning coffee and on the way home for one of their organic wines and small bites! We also suggest trying out their brunch.
Where: 351 Evergreen Ave, Brooklyn
Restaurants
For all of the best eats, we’ve got you covered! We’re here to fix your cravings.
Roberta’s Pizza
To be honest, Roberta’s isn’t much of a secret anymore, but we couldn’t leave it off our list! This hipster pizzeria whips up the best wood oven cooked pizza in the area and serves great drinks both in their restaurant and on the rooftop garden. The food here is the real deal and the atmosphere kindly compliments it. Plus, the pizza menus constantly rotate so something new might be waiting for you next time!
Where: 6 Grand St, Brooklyn
Tortilleria Los Hermanos
To feed your Mexican craving, stop by this tortilla factory and Mexican cantina that cranks out tasty food. Their food is made with care and fresh ingredients, and their outdoor patio in the summer is the best place to enjoy it. Plus, it’s such a bang for your buck!
Where: 271 Starr St, Brooklyn
Arepera Guacuco
Looking for something out of the ordinary? This Venezuelan restaurant fits right in with the diverse population of Bushwick. Of course, we have to recommend ordering the arepas (their speciality), but they also have tons of other things like empanadas and other dishes.
Where: 44 Irving Ave, Brooklyn
Ichiran
Ichiran has a lot of flagships in NYC, but the one in Bushwick is one of our favorites. They’re famous for their soothing bowls of ramen and immersive Asian atmosphere. If you’re looking to warm up on a cold day, we suggest swinging by this place!
Where: 374 Johnson Ave, Brooklyn
Le Garage
Le Garage is a French restaurant ran by a mother-daughter duo with exceptional cooking skills. Their modern interior is the perfect backdrop to enjoy exquisite French cuisine as well as their unique European wines. It’s also a great brunch spot too!

Kings County Brewers Collective
If you’re a beer lover, you have to hit up this brewery that’s located right in Bushwick! Their taproom is open 7 days a week and is one of our favorite places to enjoy a locally-brewed beer. The 5,000 foot space is one of our favorite spots to meet up with friends after work!
Where: 381 Troutman St, Brooklyn
Hart Bar
Hart Bar is personally one of our favorite Bushwick date spots, but any occasion will really do! They have a main floor that boasts a cozy, nostalgic vibe, plus outdoor seating too if you want to enjoy the weather. Their downstairs even gets busy at night with live music. If you’re going for happy hour though, be sure to order one of their gourmet grilled cheeses with your drink.

This place doubles as both a coffee spot and a great happy hour spot! It’s got a good amount of space to hang out and relax, or even play a game a pool if you want to. But what they’re really known for is their whiskey selection, so consider one of those cocktails if you go!

The Johnsons

The Johnson’s is one of our favorite happy hours, especially this time of the year! They have fireplaces to snuggle up next to, good drinks, and even a jukebox. Seriously, you can get a beer here for nearly a couple bucks!

For dive bar vibes with a backroom of dancing, we suggest Three Diamond Door. This spot is lovely because it lets you pick your vibe. Alligator Lounge
Alligator Lounge’s quirky drinks and pizza combo is what makes it one of the best bars in Bushwick. With each drink purchased, you can take a ticket to the back of the bar in exchange for a freshly-made small pizza! Plus, they also have a pool table, games, and karaoke nights which makes it a great idea for a night out.
Where: 600 Metropolitan Ave, Brooklyn
Dance
Bushwick is probably the most known for their nightlife, simply because they have some of the best nightclubs in all of NYC. They lean more on the warehouse/basement side and feature EDM-pumping tunes and heavy strobes and lasers. You might even get to see a famous DJ in some of these spots. Check out our standouts below!
Elsewhere
Elsewhere is sure to be a fun time, no matter what night you go. Here you can find world-renowned DJs and even some up and coming artists play music for hours on end. The venue is multi-room and even has a rooftop in the summer where you can dance and mingle with others!

Think warehouse nightclub…with lots of lasers. Bossa Nova Civic Club just reopened its doors again recently and we couldn’t be any happier!
