Seaport District’s Pier 17 is getting a mall with a 1.5 acre rooftop that will be dedicated to hosting concerts. Known as the Pier 17 Rooftop Concert Series, it was announced earlier this week that Live Nation will be programming the rooftop events, exclusively.
The space will seat 2,400 people (3,400 standing) with gorgeous views of the city skyline, along with phenomenal views of the Statue of Liberty and Brooklyn Bridge.
The lineup for the new open-air venue will be officially announced on May 7, and the space is set to open in August. As for the rest of the Pier Village mall—it will be home to waterfront restaurants from chefs like Jean-Georges Vongerichten, Andrew Carmellini, and David Chang; as well as the new live broadcast studios for ESPN.
