New York City is about to get a permanent museum dedicated to candy.
This summer, Sugar Factory will open the Museum of Candy in Chelsea area. Taking over the space that was once Limelight nightclub, the 30,000-square-foot museum will be much like the Museum of Ice Cream pop-up, but for candy (duh).
According to Eater, the space will feature over 15 “experiential rooms” that each have a candy theme, an outdoor cafe, a Sugar Factory restaurant, and of course a “dessert marketplace” that’ll include over 20 vendors. Of the exhibits, you’ll find “the world’s largest gummy bear” and a candy unicorn!
As the announcement describes it:
“From floor to ceiling, guests will be overwhelmed with joy from the edible candy murals, live art installations from local artists and whimsical musical performances.”
We can already expect this museum to take over Instagram this summer. There’s no set date yet for its opening but we’ll certainly be keeping a close eye on it through their website!
