It’s finally game day!
After the regular baseball got delayed four months due to COVID-19, the MLB is starting back up again. Today marks Opening Day 2020, which means that New Yorkers will be able to cheer on their favorite teams again…from home that is.
Part of phase 4 reopening, which NYC reached at the start of this week, included professional sports games, although fans cannot be there in person.
Baseball kicks off in NYC tomorrow with an opening day game between the Mets and the Atlanta Braves here at Citi Field in Queens. And it looks like the Empire State Building picked their favorite from the classic NY team rivalry…they are lighting up the building in Mets colors orange and blue tonight in honor of the game!
The Yankees are playing tonight, but the game is away, so of course that could be why they didn’t do a white and blue number.
It should visible in its all orange and blue glow-y glory as skies go dark!
