Das von Mario Carbone, Rich Torrisi und Jeff Zalaznick gegründete Restaurant ist ein beliebter Treffpunkt für Prominente und serviert gehobene italienische Pastagerichte wie Hummer Fra Diavlo und die berühmten Spicy Rigatoni Vodka (siehe Bild oben). Unsere beiden Favoriten sind die oben abgebildeten Fusilli (in Rotwein geschmorter Oktopus, Knochenmark) und die Mezzaluna (Hummerravioli mit Tintenfischtinte, Korallenbottarga).

4. Fiaschetteria Pistoia, West Village & East Village
Die Pasta in der Fiaschetteria Pistoia ist so frisch, wie sie nur sein kann, vor allem, wenn man im Schaufenster zusehen kann, wie sie von Hand gemacht wird! Dieses Restaurant, das ursprünglich aus Italien stammt, hat jetzt zwei Außenstellen in New York, wo es die wohl besten Gerichte in Downtown Manhattan gibt. Die beiden Hauptgerichte, die in aller Munde sind, sind die Pici Freschi Cacio e Pepe (handgerollte Spaghetti, Pecorino, schwarzer Pfeffer) und die dicken Nudeln Pappardelle Al Ragu (langsam gekochtes Rinderragu nach Bolognese-Art), aber alles hier ist unglaublich. Vergessen Sie nicht, auch die Trüffel zu probieren.

5. Lilia, Williamsburg
Auch wenn es schwierig ist, einen Tisch zu reservieren, ist Lilia das Nonplusultra, wenn es um Pasta in Brooklyn geht. Das Restaurant im Industriestil in Williamsburg ist ein Ort des feinen Luxus, ein Ort, an dem man nachher offiziell damit prahlen kann, dass man dort war. Das italienische Restaurant Felice hat mehrere Standorte in Manhattan, an denen sie ihre hervorragende Pasta und andere Gerichte anbieten. Unsere Lieblingslokale sind Felice 83 (UES), Felice 56 (Midtown) und Felice on Hudson (West Village), aber es gibt noch mehr. Wir empfehlen entweder die Linguine Alle Vongole (frische Manilamuscheln, Knoblauch, italienischer roter Peperoncino, frische Petersilie, natives Olivenöl extra) oder die Mafalde al Limone (frische Mafalde-Nudeln, Zitronenschale, Ricotta, rote Zwiebel). Last but not least ist Quality Italian, ein italienisch-amerikanisches Steakhouse, das eine Reihe von zeitlosen Gerichten anbietet. Das zweistöckige Bistro bietet eine ganze Reihe von Gerichten an, aber die Highlights sind die Dry-Aged Porterhouse Agnolotti (24 Monate Parmesan, braune Butter, Vincotto) und die Potato & Robiola Gnocchi (geschmolzener Lauch, Schnittlauchknospen).
