Gear up fellow foodies because Guy Fieri is taking us to Flavortown!
As first reported by CitiTourNY, Guy Fieri is making his Times Square comeback as he sets out to hatch an outpost of his fast-casual chicken concept, Chicken Guy!, with restaurateur Robert Earl.
Chicken Guy! is known for its one-of-a-kind all-natural chicken tenders which are deliciously brined in fresh lemon juice, pickle brine, and buttermilk and served with a mouthwateringly wide selection of delicious sauces.
This isn’t the first time Fieri has touched down in Times Square either–he actually opened Guy’s American Kitchen and Bar in Times Square which gained notoriety in 2012 after receiving a now-famous zero-star review by New York Times food critic Pete Wells.
The restaurant officially shut down on New Year’s Eve in 2018 after being open for less than 5 1/2 years.
Shortly after, Fieri made his way back into the restaurant scene when Chicken Guy! opened its first outpost at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, back in 2018.
The franchise now has over ten locations, and additional locations opening soon include Los Angeles, California, Dallas, Texas, and Sunrise, Florida, among others.
As for Times Square’s Chicken Guy! outpost, it’ll be situated at 136 W. 42nd Street between Sixth Avenue and Broadway.
We can only hope this Times Square venture will be more successful than Fieri’s last–though the new joint will be competing with other mouthwatering chicken spots such as Raising Cane’s, who recently opened its second Manhattan location in NoHo.
So, which do you think came first–the chicken, the egg, or Chicken Guy!?
