Whether you’re a yogi or someone more inclined to say “Nama-stay at home,” Bryant Park’s amazing free yoga classes are worth attending.
They just announced their return for their 21st year in partnership with CALIA, kicking off this week on Wednesday, May 29th! This favorite summer activity normally runs from May until the end of August, however, similar to last year, Bryant Park is extending their classes into the month of September by popular demand.
These hour-long classes available twice a week focus on healing and stress reduction. They are entirely free and open to the public, with registration required. Classes will take place Tuesday mornings at 10am (Upper Terrace) and Wednesday evenings at 6pm (Lawn) through September 25. Note, September classes begin at 5:30pm.
“We are delighted that our yoga series continues to be so popular. It’s exciting to see the hundreds of participants from all walks of life – many of them regulars – gather here as a community each week,” said Daniel Biederman, Executive Director of Bryant Park Corporation.
Mats are not provided, and participants are encouraged to bring their own as well as arrive early in order to secure their spot.
The classes are designed for yogis of all levels, led by expert instructors like Kirra Michel and Kristin McGee.
Bryant Park will even livestream Wednesday classes on the Bryant Park Instagram page @bryantparknyc!
As you can probably tell from the picture above (and from attending previous years, course), these classes fill up quickly! So be sure to reserve a spot in advance here.
