Whether you’re a yogi or someone more inclined to say “Namast-ay at home,” Bryant Park’s amazing free yoga classes are worth attending.
And, for the first time since before the pandemic, they are finally returning to the Midtown green space twice a week!
These hour-long classes focus on healing and stress reduction with the first class of the season beginning on May 25 this year (at 6 p.m.). They will continue all summer long through August 24.
Classes will take place at 10 a.m. on Tuesday mornings on the Upper Terrace and 6 p.m. on Wednesday evenings on the Lawn.
As usual, classes are entirely free and open to the public, with pre-registration strongly suggested but not required.
Unlike in years past when mats were provided, you will have to bring your own this year. Face masks are not required (nor is proof of COVID-19 vaccination), though it is noted that “Bryant Park will continue to monitor and follow updated New York City and New York State COVID-19 guidelines throughout the summer as necessary.”
The classes are designed for yogis of all levels, led by expert instructors like beloved NYC studio owner Bethany Lyons and Bryant Park favorite Sara Clark.
And if you can’t attend in person, the Wednesday classes will be livestreamed on the Bryant Park Instagram page @bryantparknyc!
As you can probably tell from the picture above (and from attending previous years, course), these classes fill up quickly! So be sure to reserve a spot in advance here.
Bryant Park Yoga partners Miraval Berkshires Resort & Spa, Rothman Orthopaedic and Lifeway support the series.
