As the weather cools down and a festive chill fills the air, New York’s ‘real’ Little Italy is shining brighter than ever.
You can leave the crowded Manhattan sidewalks behind. The Belmont Business Improvement District is officially kicking off its 2026 holiday season right here in the Bronx.
From November through December, the historic Belmont neighborhood will transform into a festive wonderland.
Whether you are shopping for gourmet Italian gift baskets or looking for a warm meal after exploring the city, Arthur Avenue is the ultimate holiday destination.
Thanksgiving feasts and small business shopping

Prepare for your upcoming holiday dinners by shopping locally. Bronx Little Italy offers everything you need for the perfect Turkey Day spread.
You can even grab a complete Thanksgiving meal at neighborhood staples like Tino’s Deli and Mike’s Deli on Thursday, November 26.
When Small Business Saturday arrives on November 28, it is the perfect time to support independently owned family shops.
Make sure to visit Artuso Pastry Shop, which is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year. You can also stop by Ann & Tony’s Restaurant, which hits 100 years on Arthur Avenue in 2027.
The annual holiday tree lighting ceremony

Holiday magic will officially fill the air on Saturday, December 5. The neighborhood is hosting its annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony in Ciccarone Park (East 188th Street and Arthur Avenue) from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Families can enjoy a meet-and-greet with Santa and his elf. You will also find toy soldiers on stilts, cheerful holiday carols, and free Italian cookies and hot chocolate from local businesses.
The Belmont BID is also partnering with The Children’s Cancer Society of America for a toy giveaway for local children.
Live nativity scene and Christmas Eve traditions

Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church is hosting special holiday services throughout December. A major highlight is the Live Nativity Scene on December 22 and 23.
This display features a real manger with live farm animals right in front of the church.
On Christmas Eve, the neighborhood is the top spot to prepare for the Feast of the Seven Fishes.
Local spots like Cosenza’s Fish Market and Randazzo’s Seafood will be stocked with fresh baccala, shrimp, octopus, and more.
While you walk the neighborhood, keep an eye out for The Jolly Holidays serenading shoppers with classic carols. If you need a unique gift for the foodie in your life, pick up a jar of the official Little Italy in the Bronx pasta sauce.
It is a great way to support the neighborhood, as proceeds help preserve these generations-old traditions.
