Happy St. Patrick’s Day to all those celebrating! Today, NYC is commemorating in all sorts of ways, from the world’s oldest St. Patrick’s Day parade returning to Fifth Avenue to various Irish bar crawls.
However, one of the most festive ways to spend St. Patrick’s Day is checking out Bay Ridge’s Holiday House at 635 79th Street, Brooklyn. For every occasion, this house brings out the most over-the-top decorations, and St. Patrick’s Day is no different.
See illuminated shamrocks, mischievous leprechauns and seemingly endless strings of green glowing light covering the Bay Ridge facade. The extravagant display is on view, no reservation needed, to the public. Go ahead and take all the pictures your phone storage can manage, but be sure to respect the property and decorations.
St. Patrick’s Day (3/17) is the final day to see the display before the family makes way for the next holiday. Each holiday display is a labor of love from the Jensen family and a tradition that started with Roy Jensen in 1989.
The house previously went to the extremes for Valentine’s Day and Christmas.
