After seeing the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and doing an Irish pub crawl, don’t forget to look up at the Empire State Building shining in green with the Irish flag rotating in the mast on Monday, March 17th.
The Empire State Building forgoes its signature white lights every so often for special occasions or holidays. Most recently, the Empire State Building shone in multi-colored stripes to celebrate Traitors Season 3 Finale on Peacock.
Later in March, the landmark will sparkle in the colors of the winning team of the BIG EAST Conference Men’s Basketball Tournament. Following St. Patrick’s Day, the Empire State Building will light up red in partnership with American Red Cross in honor of American Red Cross Month.
Lights are typically visible from sunset (which should be around 7:05pm on St. Patrick’s Day) through 2am. If you need a place to watch the sunset before catching the Empire State Building lights, check out our guide to the best spots in NYC to watch the sunset.
