Part of NYC’s Open Streets program, the 31st Avenue Open Street in Astoria closes down the avenue to cars between 33rd and 35th Streets in order to offer space for outdoor dining, programming, and other fun community activities. Yesterday, September 6, they announced that Astoria’s first ever Restaurant Week(end) will be coming to 31st Avenue this month, taking place the weekends of September 10th, September 17th, and September 24th.
Astoria is a multicultural neighborhood which is known first and foremost for its delicious food. Local small businesses are vital to the community, and 31st Avenue is lined with must-visit bars and restaurants.
From 12p.m. – 8p.m. during these designated weekends take a walk down 31st Avenue to enjoy special menu deals, free giveaways, and raffle prizes from dozens of amazing vendors.
Participating restaurants include:
- Bareburger
- Bar Dalia
- Diamond Dogs
- Enthaice Thai Kitchen
- Golden Dragon
- Halsey’s
- Heart of Gold
- Hutch
- El Rey del Taco
- Savage
- and more!
Whether you dine in, enjoy your meal al fresco at one of the open street tables, or even just give the restaurant some praise in the form of an online review, this restaurant week is a way for the community to show the local businesses love and appreciation and to help with pandemic stressors that many businesses are still recovering from.
