NYC ‘Restaurant Week’ Returns This Month With More Inclusive Pricing Options

NYers favorite week is returning this winter on Tuesday, January 18 through Sunday, February 13. If you’re unfamiliar with this bi-annual tradition, it was created back in 1992 to celebrate NYC’s dining scene by offering prix fixe menus to some of the city’s most established restaurants and neighborhood favorites.

Eager eaters are able to sample some of NYC’s top restaurants at incredible lunch and dinner rates. This year, more than 400 restaurants across all five boroughs are participating in Restaurant Week, offering a two-course lunch and three-course dinner option. Pricing options will range from $29, $39, $59.

Their website notes that this inclusive pricing structure enables more restaurants to participate in Restaurant Week and provides varying dining options and more available reservations for customers.

Most restaurants run their deals Monday-Friday, as Saturday is excluded from the program and Sunday participation is decided upon by the restaurants.

And though last winter’s ‘Restaurant Week To-Go’ was highly successful, there’s no guarantee that restaurants will offer a takeout/delivery option this winter. Customers should be sure to check all safety protocols and requirements being followed at each individual restaurant before booking a table. As a note, the city requires proof of full vaccination for indoor dining, and encourages residents to get their booster shots to protect themselves against the Omicron variant.

Tips for Restaurant Week as outlined by their website:
  1. Score a top table
  2. Plan ahead
  3. Know before you go
  4. Explore new cuisines
  5. Drink it all in
  6. Let Instagram be your guide

Similar to years prior, those with a preregistered Mastercard will receive $10 back for each transaction of $39 or more. Reservations can now be made here using OpenTable.

Browse through all your options using the helpful categories such as “James Beard Honorees,” “NYC Classics,” “Date Night,” “The Great Outdoors,” “Order at the Bar,” “Dinner and a Show.”

And make sure to check out some of the top-tier participating restaurants such as:
