Don your finest cloak and dust off your wands because a Harry Potter-inspired cafe has recently opened up in the city!
Steamy Hallows opened its doors to the wizarding world of NYC at 514¾ East Sixth Street, providing the East Village with a “witchy goth coffee shop [that] serves up delicious coffee and tea potions and homemade cookies in an immersive environment” that’s inspired by Harry Potter and Halloween.
This new cafe is a magical little haven with floating candles overhead (giving off those Great Hall vibes), along with Harry Potter mirrors, broomsticks, and a smoking cauldron to greet you. The shop will also provide wands to those who come in, but you’re also welcome to bring your own if you’d like. The menu itself is also enchanting, with creations like Love Potion 9¾, Basic Witch, El Diablo, and the one and only: Butterbeer!
At Steamy Hallows the Butterbeer latte is particularly unique because it incorporates edible glitter—a picturesque addition they’ve included to top off a few of their elixirs. While all the drinks have coffee included in their creation, they can also be made without coffee for those who still want to enjoy the magic without the caffeine boost.
The owner of Steamy Hallows, Zach Neil, is also behind successful themed concepts across NYC like the Will Ferrell inspired bar “Stay Classy” and the popular Tim Burton inspired bar “Beetle House.” Like some of the other concept, Steamy Hallows is a temporary pop up so you’ll want to check them out soon.
The cafe is open on Monday through Fridays from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m., and on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m.
