The Heroic Corn Maze at Fort Ticonderoga has officially been named one of the winners in the 2026 USA TODAY 10BEST Readers’ Choice for Best Corn Maze in America.
Located about a five-hour drive from New York City in the Adirondack region, this historic site has completely transformed its fields into an interactive autumn challenge.
A maze built on American history
The 2026 edition features an entirely new design centered around six stories of heroism and covert scouting missions from 1775 and 1776.
To keep things accessible, the six-acre maze is divided into two phases for visitors of all ages.
As you navigate the towering stalks, you will tackle “Maze Quest” challenges, using your knowledge of the fort’s history to unlock clues and find your way out.

Fall festivals and real-time revolution
This honor comes during the site’s most ambitious season. Fort Ticonderoga is running its REAL TIME REVOLUTION® initiative, recreating events of the American Revolution on the exact dates and grounds they unfolded 250 years ago.
If you want to maximize your road trip, time your visit for October 3rd during the Heritage, Harvest, & Horse Festival.
You can explore the maze, stroll through a local farmers’ market set among heirloom apple trees, and take a narrated Carillon boat cruise across Lake Champlain.

How to visit
The Heroic Corn Maze is open Tuesday through Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.. You have until October 25 to experience the labyrinth before the season wraps up.
If you are making the trek from the city, general admission tickets are valid for two consecutive days, giving you plenty of time to explore the 2,000-acre historic landscape without rushing.
🎟️ Advance tickets are highly encouraged to secure your spot.
