Erst kürzlich haben wir das Claro in Gowanus als einen unserer Favoriten für versteckte Restaurants im Freien genannt, aber es ist auch eines unserer Lieblingsrestaurants in NYC, das mit einem Michelin-Stern ausgezeichnet ist – und das Essen ist auch nicht schlecht! Auch das Claro hat sich auf mexikanische Küche spezialisiert, vor allem aus der Region Oaxaca, und man kann sie perfekt auf der Außenterrasse genießen.
Das Restaurant bietet ein Vier-Gänge-Menü für $80 an, aber wir empfehlen, die Speisen von der Barkarte zu teilen, die genauso lecker und viel günstiger sind. Obwohl das Chuan Tian Xia technisch gesehen nicht mit einem Michelin-Stern ausgezeichnet ist, hat es die nächsthöhere Auszeichnung des Michelin, den Bib Gourmand, für seine gute Qualität und sein gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis erhalten.
In dem chinesischen Restaurant in Brooklyn stehen die Gäste meist Schlange, um die warmen oder kalten Gerichte zu probieren. Das sich selbst als amerikanisches Restaurant in SoHo bezeichnende Estela bietet eine Fülle von verspielten Aromen, die in die Arbeiten von Küchenchef Ignacio Mattos einfließen.
