4. Museum des bewegten Bildes
Das Museum of the Moving Image in Queens ist eines der am meisten unterschätzten Museen der Stadt. Es hat sich zum Ziel gesetzt, „das Verständnis, den Genuss und die Wertschätzung der Kunst, Geschichte, Technik und Technologie von Film, Fernsehen und digitalen Medien zu fördern“, indem es Ausstellungen und Programme rund um die Kunst des bewegten Bildes präsentiert. Ihr Ziel ist es, die Kunst und Artefakte der karibischen und lateinamerikanischen Kulturen für die Zukunft zu sammeln, zu bewahren, auszustellen und zu interpretieren. Die ständige Sammlung beherbergt über 6 500 Objekte, während sich die Wechselausstellungen auf eine Reihe von Themen konzentrieren.

7. Hispanische Gesellschaft von Amerika
Das Hispanic Society Museum & Library ist eigentlich das versteckte Juwel von Upper Manhattan. Dieses Forschungsinstitut liegt versteckt am Riverside Drive und beherbergt einige der beeindruckendsten Werke spanischer und portugiesischer Kunst im ganzen Land. Der Besuch des Museums ist kostenlos, und freitags und samstags um 14 Uhr können Sie sogar an kostenlosen Führungen mit einem Pädagogen teilnehmen .

Die Besucher des Museums können einen Spaziergang durch die Geschichte des Massentransports machen… indem sie in alte U-Bahn-Wagen einsteigen, sich ans Steuer eines Stadtbusses setzen, durch alte Drehkreuze gehen und die wechselnden Ausstellungsstücke erkunden. Und das Coolste daran? Das Museum ist buchstäblich in einer unterirdischen U-Bahn-Station von 1936 in Downtown Brooklyn untergebracht!

10. Mmuseumm
Das Mmuseumm ist definitiv das hipste der Museen auf dieser Liste. Laut ihrem Leitbild widmen sie sich „der Erforschung der modernen Menschheit und aktueller Ereignisse anhand von Objekten aus aller Welt„. Einige der ausgestellten Objekte gehören zu den Dingen, über die sich die meisten Menschen ihr ganzes Leben lang keine Gedanken machen (z. B. die Brotklammer, mit der die Tüte Wonderbread verschlossen wird), aber die Präsentation und die Erklärungen dazu machen das Ganze recht interessant. Das und die Tatsache, dass der Raum so unauffällig ist, dass man einfach daran vorbeigehen könnte.

Das MOCA wurde 1980 gegründet und beschäftigt sich mit den Erfahrungen von Menschen chinesischer Abstammung in den Vereinigten Staaten. 14. Gesellschaft der Illustratoren
Die Society of Illustrators wurde 1901 gegründet. Hier können Sie das ganze Jahr über Ausstellungen zum Thema Illustration besuchen und an Kunstunterricht teilnehmen. Die ständige Sammlung ist sehr umfangreich und umfasst über 2 500 Werke, die in regelmäßigen Abständen ausgestellt werden. Im Jahr 2012 gründete das Museum die Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art Gallery, die sich auf kuratierte Ausstellungen dieser Art von Illustration konzentriert.

15. Museum für Essen und Trinken (MOFAD)
