1. Central Park
Começando pelo parque mais conhecido de Manhattan, o Central Park e seus 843 acres de terra se estendem por 50 quarteirões! O oásis verde é repleto de caminhos, áreas verdes, playgrounds e marcos icônicos como a Bow Bridge, Bethesda Terrace e Strawberry Fields. É o local de relaxamento perfeito para turistas e moradores locais.
2. Washington Square Park
Embora não seja tão verde quanto os outros parques desta lista, o Washington Square Park, em Greenwich Village, é um dos melhores lugares para observar as pessoas em toda a cidade de Nova York. Você encontrará de tudo, desde hordas de estudantes da NYU a artistas de rua e jogadores de xadrez procurando uma partida. Definitivamente, ele ainda reflete a vibração hippie que atraiu no passado, e você pode até entrar legalmente na fonte nos dias mais quentes.
3. Parque da ponte do Brooklyn
Situado ao longo do East River no Brooklyn, esse parque à beira-mar oferece vistas de tirar o fôlego do horizonte de Manhattan. Graças aos seus gramados, campos esportivos e calçadão à beira do rio, você pode fazer de tudo, desde andar no impressionante Jane’s Carousel dos anos 1920 até jogar basquete ou futebol em seus campos gramados. E, é claro, fica a uma curta caminhada da famosa Brooklyn Bridge!
4. Parque do Rio Hudson
Abrangendo quase todo o lado oeste de Manhattan, o Hudson River Park é o lar de muitos cais à beira-mar, pistas de corrida, locais para piquenique e bares bonitos ao ar livre. É um viveiro de arte pública ao ar livre e instalações esportivas, como um campo de minigolfe, quadras de vôlei de areia, um driving range, quadras de tênis e muito mais. Você pode até mesmo encontrar concertos frequentes ao ar livre, exibições de filmes, aulas de ginástica, programas educacionais e muito mais!
5. Parque Flushing Meadows Corona
O segundo maior parque de Nova York fica no Queens, com mais de 1.200 acres de terra! O Flushing Meadows-Corona Park não só possui campos exuberantes, um lago com barcos e até mesmo um zoológico, mas também abriga marcos icônicos como o Unisphere, que foi apresentado na Feira Mundial de 1964, bem como o notável Festival de Música Governors Ball!
6. Parque Bryant
O Bryant Park, em Midtown Manhattan, tem praticamente tudo o que você poderia desejar! A agitação da cidade ao redor, justaposta à grama verde e calma, é única. Sempre há algo acontecendo aqui! No verão, há Noites de cinema no Bryant Park e, no inverno, há o Vila de Inverno do Bryant Park e o rinque de patinação no gelo. 7. Prospect Park
Curiosamente, os mesmos arquitetos que projetaram o Central Park também projetaram o Prospect Park! Com 526 acres, é o segundo maior parque do Brooklyn e conta com muitos prados exuberantes, bosques encantadores e um lago sereno. Os destaques do parque incluem o Long Meadow, com 90 acres de extensão, o Prospect Park Zoo, o Boathouse e o Audubon Center, e até mesmo concertos de verão apresentados pelo BRIC! Celebrates Brooklyn no Bandshell. Há também o Jardim Botânico do Brooklyn bem ao lado.
8. Battery Park
O Battery é o local onde as vistas deslumbrantes da orla marítima se encontram com a incrível história marítima de Nova York. Ele está localizado na ponta sul de Manhattan e suas áreas verdes e opções de assentos oferecem vistas deslumbrantes da Estátua da Liberdade, da Ellis Island e do porto de Nova York. 9. Parque McCarren
O McCarren Park, no Brooklyn, é um dos nossos favoritos por muitos motivos, principalmente por causa de suas instalações recreativas, eventos comunitários e espaços verdes abertos. Além da pista de atletismo em tamanho real, o parque também tem uma piscina histórica ao ar livre, mercado de produtores, pista para cães sem coleira e muito mais!
10. Parque Pelham Bay
O Pelham Bay Park é o maior parque de Nova York, cobrindo mais de 2.700 acres no Bronx. Você pode encontrar pântanos de água salgada, áreas florestais e trilhas panorâmicas em todo o local, bem como áreas de piquenique, campos esportivos e trilhas para caminhadas. Também fica bem perto do impressionante Bartow-Pell Mansion Museum, uma casa-museu histórica que exibe uma mansão do século XIX.
11. The Hills at Governors Island
A deslumbrante vegetação da Governors Island só pode ser acessada por balsa, o que significa que a área do parque é mantida em sua melhor forma! 12. Parque Riverside
Se você estiver no Rio Hudson, no Bronx, pare nas lindas trilhas arborizadas do Riverside Park, que são perfeitas para caminhar ou correr. Você ficará encantado com os belos jardins e canteiros de flores, vistas do horizonte, cafés à beira do rio e até mesmo uma seção chamada Cherry Walk, um caminho particular de cerejeiras em flor. 13. Parque da Praça Tompkins
O Tompkins Square Park é um ponto de referência do East Village e, provavelmente, onde você encontrará a maioria dos cães em toda a cidade de Nova York. Esse ponto de encontro comunitário tornou-se popular para caminhadas com cães sem coleira, sessões de improviso, apresentações acústicas, ligas esportivas e muito mais. Eles também exibem filmes gratuitos no verão e organizam um desfile de Halloween para cães no outono.
14. Parque Domino
Inspirado na outrora famosa Refinaria de Açúcar Domino, esse parque à beira-mar em Williamsburg talvez seja um dos nossos favoritos no Brooklyn. Seu calçadão à beira do rio é moderno e deslumbrante, o playground em estilo industrial é perfeito para crianças e fica a poucos passos dos bares e restaurantes de Williamsburg. Há áreas para piquenique, gramado e até espreguiçadeiras para relaxar. Vá em frente e descanse um pouco.
15. Fort Tryon Park
O último da nossa lista é uma joia esquecida em Washington Heights, conhecida como Fort Tyron Park. Sua característica mais proeminente é o The Cloisters, uma filial do Metropolitan Museum of Art dedicada à arte e à arquitetura da Europa medieval. As esculturas e os jardins de tirar o fôlego do parque são algo para se ver… ao lado de outros locais pitorescos como o Heather Garden e o Cabrini Woods Nature Sanctuary, é claro.
