Bryant Park is celebrating its 25th anniversary, meaning this year’s Barefoot Ball is bringing out the big guns. Legendary DJ Grandmaster Flash will be rocking Bryant Park Lawn!
First things first. Grandmaster Flash. We recognize at least a few of you reading this may not get why this is a big deal. Grandmaster Flash is without doubt one of the pioneers of hip-hop DJing, cutting, scratching and mixing. He was the first hip hop act to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007. So when he takes to the lawn to spin some beats, well, damn it, you show up.
Barefoot Ball is back, but please, you CAN leave your shoes on, if the smell of the subway is anything to go by your neighbors will thank you for it. What more could you want? Bryant Park Lawn, the sun setting over Manhattan, Grandmaster Flash… how about an opening set Hannah Bronfman? Yes! More? how about a beer and wine open bar, drinks from KeVita, ionized water from Essentia… food? Of course, there is food! All your neighborhood favorites; Takumi Taco, Taiyaki NYC, and Alidoro. Yes, this year’s Barefoot Ball is pulling out all the stops.
So an open air dance party is all well and good, but remember, all the proceeds from Barefoot Ball go toward supporting the park’s 1,000+ annual free activities and programs. More than just a chance to have a good time, you are literally giving back to the community by supporting the event.
The fun goes down on Wednesday, July 26th and tickets include access to the beer and wine open bar. Get your tickets HERE!
