In the city that never sleeps, crafting the perfect cocktail is an art form—and New Yorkers know a good pour when they see one. Still, with so many bars to choose from (and $17 drinks to match), it’s no small feat to stand out in the crowd.
Luckily, The World’s 50 Best Bars has just dropped its 2025 list, and four incredible NYC spots made the global cut, cementing New York City as the cocktail capital of the Americas.
🍸 Superbueno – No.12

Rising 15 places this year, Superbueno in Manhattan’s East Village soared to No.12 on the list, making it the highest-ranked New York bar of 2025.
A colorful celebration of Mexican-American culture, Superbueno comes from industry legend Ignacio “Nacho” Jimenez and the Cocktail Kingdom Hospitality Group. Its playful yet refined cocktail menu fuses Mexican ingredients with New York flair—think mole negronis, mushroom margaritas, and mango martinis. Jimenez stated:
More than anything, we wanted to create a space that was set apart by its unique perspective on Mexican-American hospitality; a place where all would feel instantly at home, and would joyfully gather with friends and family…Being included on the World’s 50 Best Bars list for a second year in a row is not only an honor, it’s a validation.
This recognition marks Superbueno’s second appearance on the list since opening in 2023. The bar was also named #2 on the North America’s 50 Best Bars list in 2024 and 2025, along with a placement at #27 on the 2024 World’s 50 Best Bars list while also being named “Best New Opening,” among other accolades.

🍶 Sip & Guzzle – No.39

Brand-new to the list this year, Sip & Guzzle, the bi-level West Village bar marrying the cocktail cultures of Japan and New York, took No.39 and also snagged the Three Cents Best New Opening Award.
Created by Tokyo’s Shingo Gokan and NYC’s Steve Schneider, this bi-level bar is a meeting of two cocktail worlds. Upstairs at Guzzle, it’s loud and lively with American classics; downstairs at Sip, it’s quiet and minimalist: a Japanese-style speakeasy serving concept-driven drinks. Schneider stated:
Being named one of the 50 Best Bars in the World is truly an honor and beyond what we ever could have imagined when we first opened Sip & Guzzle. From the beginning, we were inspired by the cocktail traditions of New York and Tokyo and set out to create a hospitality experience that fused these two cultures seamlessly.
Sip & Guzzle was also named No.5 on the 2025 North America’s 50 Best Bar list and awarded Best New U.S. Cocktail Bar at the 2025 Spirited Awards by Tales of the Cocktail, among other accolades.

🍕 Double Chicken Please – No.41

The Lower East Side’s Double Chicken Please may have dropped from No.14 to No.41, but it remains one of NYC’s most beloved and inventive bars (the nightly line around the block is a testament to that).
The bar splits into two spaces: Free Range, a casual front bar inspired by soda shops, and The Coop, a dimly lit cocktail lounge known for “culinary cocktails” like our personal fav the Cold Pizza (yes, you read that right), made with Don Fulano Blanco, parmigiano reggiano, burnt toast, tomato, basil, honey, and egg white, and Japanese Cold Noodle, made with Bacardi Superior, pineapple, cucumber, coconut lime, and sesame oil.
There’s a reason bartender GN Chan was named the World’s Best Bartender in 2023.

🌆 Overstory – No.46

Perched high above the Financial District on the 64th floor of 70 Pine Street, Overstory is a sky-high cocktail experience like no other.
With a wrap-around terrace offering 360° skyline views, it’s no wonder this spot continues to impress drinkers and judges alike. The menu leans into agave spirits and whiskey with creative touches, like the El Bandito (tequila, tomato water, koseret, lime, yuzu kosho) and the In The Clouds (whiskey, Earl Grey, vanilla, champagne, clarified milk).
