Bam! And like that, Rodos, Emeril’s newest addition to the culinary world, opened in NYC.
It happened with little pomp and circumstance, but it’s here! Rodos- the brainchild of the TV personality and chef, Emeril and his friend and fellow restaurateur Yiannis Chatiris- is now open in the lobby of the Hotel Henri in Chelsea. The restaurant is defined by healthy and fish-based plates. According to the New York Post, the opening took place on January 8.
While Emeril runs a giant culinary franchise and oversees 12 restaurants across the country, Rodos is his first endeavor into New York City. What makes the restaurant different is the unique fusion of Greek and Cajun/Creole cuisine. The menu highlights a mix of Emeril’s traditional, rich dishes like the Louisiana crawfish stuffed clams, with lighter Mediterranian style plates.
According to Emeril’s Facebook page, after traveling together extensively through Greece over the past few years, he and Yiannis Chatiris decided to open the restaurant with both a Greek and Cajun twist and name it after Rhodes, the childhood home of Chatiris.
