On October 21 the United Nations will hold a ceremony at its New York City headquarters, to declare it Wonder Woman Day in honor of her 75th anniversary. This is an very few actual human beings have received, much less fictional characters!
Among those in attendance will be Lynda Carter who played the iconic female character in 70’s on ABC & CBS.
Wonder Woman was created by William Moulton Marston, a psychiatrist who invented of the polygraph lie detector which would later influence the characters “Lasso of Truth”. He wanted Wonder Woman to exemplify love, compassion, and peace but also be as formidable as her male counterparts.
She first appeared in comics in December 1941′s ‘All Star Comics’ number 8, and now 75 years later, Wonder Woman will be honored by the agency her alter ego, Diana Prince worked for many years, the united nations.
