March marks Women’s History Month, a time to celebrate the incredible contributions of powerful women across history, and a reminder to continue to honor women each and every day of the year.
There are tons of ways to commemorate this March, and we were fortunate enough to kick off the celebration in the sweetest of ways—with cookies!
And let’s be clear, these were no average cookies. We stopped by woman-owned Funny Face Bakery in the Seaport District to check out their limited edition Women’s History Month cookie collection that might be the cutest thing you’ve ever seen.
Funny Face Bakery is owned by baker Sarah Silverman. Silverman has been creating delicious confections for NYers since opening her first bakery, better known as Cupcake Market, in the East Village back in 2016.
She has since rebranded and opened Funny Face Bakery, NYC’s first pop culture bakery, at it’s current Fulton Street location just last June.
The neighborhood spot is known for their ‘meme-worthy’ and Instagram-ready sweets, created by a talented team of cookie artists. They’ve done everything from the faces of your favorite celebrities to NYC’s most iconic monuments, all in incredible detail.
Their Women’s History Month cookie collection is made up of nearly 10 specialty designs including Frida Kahlo, RBG, Simone Biles, Princess Diana, varying women empowerment phrases and more! Each is baked and decorated to perfection for artistry that goes beyond confectionary.
The limited edition collection will be available all month long. They’re the perfect addition for any party, event, or hangout with the girls!
And just as women’s contribution to society should be praised and celebrated every day of the year, Funny Face Bakery offers seasonal and holiday-themed cookies for every occasion, making it the perfect go-to bakery all year long. They even do custom orders, like your putting your own face on a cookie, that’s sure to dazzle both your sight and taste.
Not to mention, the entire bakery is just as gorgeous as their cookies, with funky posters, purple walls, and fun photo-ops!
