New Yorkers, it’s time to get paid for your grievances. The MTA has officially launched its Spring 2026 Customers Count Survey, and they’re dangling a very shiny carrot to get you to participate: a chance to win a $100 OMNY card.
That’s essentially 33 free rides–a small fortune in a city where a bagel and a coffee can now run you twenty bucks.
Why You Should Do It Now
While we’re all still waiting for air conditioned platforms and trains that actually run on time, this is a rare “win-win.” You get to vent about that delayed G train, and you might just fund your commute for the next month.
Plus, there’s a bit of a ticking clock: by mid-2026, the price of a physical OMNY card is set to double from $1 to $2, making those free credits even more valuable.
What’s On The Survey?
The MTA is looking for feedback across the board, including:
- Subway and Bus frequency
- Access-A-Ride reliability
- Metro-North and LIRR service quality
The questions cover which lines you’ve used in the last six months and how often you’re braving the turnstiles. It only takes a few minutes, which is less time than you’d spend waiting for your train anyway.
How To Enter
You can take the survey directly on the MTA’s official website. If you’re old school and prefer to do things over the phone, you can call 844-465-7471 to schedule a survey time.
Worst case scenario? You spend five minutes airing your frustrations. Best case? Your commute is covered for a couple of weeks.
