On the contrary, the least reliable lines were also revealed via data analyzed by the New York Post. Leading the pack—or perhaps more accurately, falling behind—is the B train, or should we say the “Better Luck Next Time” train? The B train came in as the slowest and most unreliable train, only arriving on time 74% of the time.
- B Line: 74% – the undisputed “leader” of delays
- D Line: 79.4% – a close second, where a “short wait” can quickly turn into a longer-than-expected adventure
- Q Line: 79.7% – reliable… if your definition of reliable includes frequent hiccups and occasional surprises
- M Line: 80.4% – just above the 80% mark, but still a line that keeps riders guessing
- F Line: 81.5% – rounding out the list, reminding commuters that even the best of the worst can’t fully escape delays
Even with the occasional—or not-so-occasional—delay, the subway remains the heartbeat of New York City, faithfully carrying us through the streets and neighborhoods of the greatest city in the world. It may test our patience, but it also connects us to the energy, culture, and endless possibilities that make this city unlike anywhere else. And in the end, no matter how long we wait or how many stops it takes, the ride is always worth it.
