Looking for some well deserved R&R? Thankfully, we know just where to go. About 90 minutes outside of NYC in the Hudson Valley region is Wildflower Farms, one of Auberge Resorts Collection’s many properties scattered around the world. And being we live in New York we may be biased, but this one is one of our favorites. The resort is situated atop 140 acres of stunning landscapes and oozes self-care and luxury.
All of that is to say a stay at Wildflower Farms feels like something out of a storybook, and we’re just over here gushing over it.
A Michelin Key stay in the Hudson Valley
Wildflower Farms is one of 26 Michelin Key hotels in New York and one of the 9 hotels outside of NYC to make the list. And when you take into consideration the property’s focus on nature, self-care, and elegance, it’s certainly easy to see why. One guest stated:
If you want to feel like royalty for a couple of days, this place is for you. The grounds are beautiful. The spa experience was beyond outstanding…Every single staff member is so kind, professional, and accommodating. Can’t recommend highly enough!
“Blanketed with meadows of flowers and wild woodlands, Wildflower Farms sways in rhythm with the seasons to embody Hudson Valley ease,” reads their website. If you’re looking to swap NYC’s bustling streets and noisy traffic for Mother Nature’s stillness and contemplation, this is certainly a stay for you.
Wildflower Farms Accommodations
The resort is home to 65 accommodations, including stand-alone cabins, cottages, and suites, all designed to blend seamlessly with nature.
Cabins and cottages feature expansive floor-to-ceiling windows, allowing for bedside views of the wildflower meadows, and open to private patios equipped with relaxing lounge areas. Inside, guests will find cozy interiors perfect for unwinding after the many exciting yet tiresome outdoor adventures of the day.
Nestled within the lush wildflower meadows are five Ridge Suites, offering unparalleled views of the Shawangunk Ridge. Enjoy unparalleled views through the floor-to-ceiling windows while taking advantage of multiple private terrace spaces, indoor and outdoor showers and fireplaces, and a private hot tub.
Luxurious Amenities
Alongside the resort’s 65 luxurious accommodations is the Thistle Spa, offering a number of treatments inspired by nature and its seasonal cycles. From a Lymphatic Reset to a Hyper Customized Facial and Healing Reiki, the spa combines age-old remedies and therapeutic bodywork with the essence of slow wellness and nature’s healing powers.
Outdoor spaces include The Courts which, framed by towering trees and lush grasses, create a tranquil atmosphere where you can move your body to the sounds of nature. Immerse yourself with Mother Nature even further by partaking in one of Wildflower Farms’ many experiences, including Annual Sheep Shearing, Raising Shiitake, Guided Fly Fishing, Pressed Flower Pottery, and more.
A three-mile walking trail connects the farm to all elements of the property.
On-site Eats
Being the resort is situated on top of a working farm, its produce, of course, provides some of the ingredients for Clay, the on-site, farm-to-table dining experience. Here, they focus on Hudson Valley flavors and provide a stunning global wine selection.
For smaller bites, you can begin your morning with unparalleled views of the Shawangunk Ridge and coffee and pastries at The Great Porch, or soak in the sun and relax poolside while enjoying light bites and refreshing cocktails at Dew Bar.
And if you’re looking to try a hand at cooking for yourself, pay a visit to the resort’s dynamic cooking school, Maplehouse.
