Taking over the former Drexler’s at 9 Ave. A, Wiggle Room is the East Village’s hottest new dance spot that opened to the public on Friday, May 19th.
The bar comes from the team behind other neighborhood favorites such as Mister Paradise, Pretty Ricky’s and Boulton & Watt—so it’s sure to be a hit!
The new bar boasts two floors to cater to every going out mood whether you wish to dance the night away or carry a riveting conversation with a cocktail in hand.
For those looking to show off their moves, travel downstairs to enjoy some funk, disco, soul and house from a weekly rotation of live DJs.
Once you’ve danced off all your cocktails, head back upstairs for a refill and some “softened” socialization.
Wiggle Room’s alluring cocktail menu creates a beautiful dichotomy with its upscale quality in a downtown environment. Helmed by Beverage Director Will Krepop, bar goers can try an array of on-tap cocktails such as the Six On The Richter Scale with Grey Goose Vodka, strawberry, lemongrass, lime leaf and watermelon, Wiggle Room Martini with Nordes Gin, Ketel One Vodka, Blanco Vermouth and cherry blossom, and the Alligator With Hair Curlers featuring Mr. Black Coffee Liqueur, cold brew, Ketel One Vodka, Copalli Cacao Rum and toasted coconut.
The space was thoughtfully designed by the Wiggle Room team (Jaime Felber, Eric Kruvant & Darin Rubell) and Robert Stansell of Emporium Design to “[reflect] the experience of listening to music.” Muted colors paint the space’s soft shapes and fluid lines as global influences decorate the bi-level bar with Venetian walls and sculptures from Amsterdam to achieve such a vibe.
You can find the unassuming entrance on the corner of Avenue A & East Houston Street. As of now, the spot is still pretty under-the-radar (hurry before intern season strikes) and waiting for you to explore all of the fun.
