We’re finally going to experience what Staten Island Chuck was talking about a month ago. The NYC weather this week will feel like — wait for it — spring!
Considering the Polar Vortex gifted New York with its coldest temperature in 13 years, you better believe we’re ready for clear skies, cherry blossoms, and gorgeous sunsets.
We kid you not, folks. It might finally be time to put away the black puffer coat.
Weather: NYC this week
According to the Weather Channel’s 10-day forecast in NYC, Monday and Tuesday will be beauts: a high of 62° and sunny skies, so pull out the Wayfarers. Mid-week we’ll be in the high 40°s and low 50°s with cloudy skies gradually picking up hutzpah from Wednesday to Friday.
The weekend will be a mix: high temps but cloudy and some showers on Sunday, March 16th with 62% humidity. Even if we get a few drops of rain and some clamminess that will make hair styling extra difficult, we’re certainly glad to see that frigid temperatures are (mostly likely) behind us.
While yes, there’s a lot to look forward to with our little spring sneak peek, unfortunately, weather concerns are serious in the coming days as well after the brushfire that erupted in the Hamptons on March 8th. According to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, residential brush burning is prohibited in Nassau, Suffolk, Richmond, Kings, Queens, Bronx, New York, Westchester, Putnam, Orange, Rockland, Dutchess, and Ulster counties until the annual statewide ban on residential brush burning takes effect on March 16th. Should you have concerns about the NYC air quality as a result, have a look at the daily AccuWeather forecast for updates.
As more news develops pertaining to the weather and burn ban, we’ll keep you posted.
