Fan favorite dairy and vegan ice cream company, Van Leeuwen, has launched an extra special Pride Month flavor: Van Leeuwen x Keith Haring.
The flavor, in partnership with the Keith Haring Foundation, is a colorful blend of blue raspberry ice cream, yellow passion fruit ice cream and swirls of strawberry jam to create Passion Fruit Berry Pop. It’s now available by the scoop or pint at all Van Leeuwen shop locations and select grocery stores through August 31.
“We are huge fans of Keith Haring and this is the first flavor we’ve ever done that is inspired by art,” said Ben Van Leeuwen, co-founder and CEO. “It was so cool to design an ice cream flavor around Haring’s artwork and to imagine what it would look and taste like.”
The pint also features Keith Haring’s artwork and can be a great collector’s item. During Pride Month a portion of the scoop and pint proceeds will be donated to The Center, a supportive environment of resources and programs for NYC’s LGBTQIA+ community.
“We are so excited to partner with Van Leeuwen on this special pint. SoHo in NYC was home to Keith Haring and the NYC streets were his canvas–it’s such a natural fit to work with a brand that had its beginning in the streets of SoHo,” shared Gil Vazquez, an old friend of Haring and the Director of the Keith Haring Foundation.
Van Leeuwen has been involved in previous, iconic collaboration flavors such as Hidden Valley Ranch and Kraft Macaroni & Cheese. And if the Van Leeuwen x Keith Haring flavor doesn’t interest you, you can still choose from their extensive menu of over 30 signature flavors ranging from Earl Grey Tea to Peanut Butter Brownie Honeycomb, in addition to their other summer flavors like Ice Cream Cake, Vegan Pina Colada and Lemon Sorbet.
