JFK’s brand new TWA Hotel continues to turn heads with their show stopping amenities, and now their adding yet another one—an infinity pool.
The infinity pool at the TWA Flight Center was inspired by the infinity edge pool at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Cap d’Antibes, France. At 63-feet-long, the pool is also accompanied by a 10,000-square-foot observation deck that overlooks runway 4 Left/22 Right and boasts views as far as Jamaica Bay.
The runway that The Pool Bar and Observation Deck overlooks is actually of the largest at JFK. You’ll be able to watch flights take off and land right in front of you as you relax by the water with a cocktail; not a bad way to spend your time if you’re staying at an airport hotel. Cocktails and food at the deck will be operated by Gerber Group, with a full kitchen and fun drinks like their Mile High Spritz and Watermelon Collins.
With summer just around the corner it could also be an interesting new pool to check out. Better yet, it’s open 365-days a year! During the winter months the infinity pool turns into a pool-cuzzi with temperatures that can reach up to 100 degrees. Not to mention, it’ll likely be one of the cleanest pools in NYC being that the water is filtered every 30 minutes in comparison to the standard of every 6 hours for most pool facilities. (Which is new news to us, and honestly a pretty gross fact now that we know…)
TWA Hotel will open on May 15 and has been taking reservations since Valentine’s Day. Guests will have complete access to the pool, however non-guests are already able to begin making reservations. The Pool Bar will also be able to host private events of up to 300 people.
