A $19 billion renovation is underway to reinvent John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) as a world-class travel hub. Two huge new terminals are rising across five old sites, existing terminals are getting a modern makeover, and roadways are being streamlined for smoother arrivals and departures. JFK could be better described as a global gateway than simply just an airport. Hosting over 62 million travelers a year, it fuels 149,000 jobs, drives $33 billion in sales, and pumps $14 billion into local wages.
