A new truffle-centric pasta lounge just opened in the West Village.
Called Oak Tuscan Truffle Lounge, it is an Italian restaurant dedicated to the delicious (and expensive) fungus and incorporated into each dish. Every dish here comes with a healthy amount of truffle shavings (about 10 grams worth), from appetizers to desserts. Menu items include truffle mash potatoes, a kale salad with lemon and orange truffle dressing, burrata with white truffle honey and truffle balsamic, cacio e pepe with truffle cheese and truffle sauce, as well as a for di latte ice cream with truffle honey on top.
The luxurious dishes range in price from $15 – $18 for sides and desserts, and from $29 -$55 for the appetizers and main dishes.
According to owner Rudy Accornero, the truffles are brought in from Italy and will change seasonally. The current truffle in season is the black summer truffles from Tuscany, but next up is white truffle which he’ll receive in September.
